Mapa Pedestal Hydrant Diagram

Instead of using an old pipe for a hydrant on a roof, why not use something durable that will stand the test of time.  Check out our new Mapa Product: The MPH-24 Series Pedestal Hydrant!

 Composition:

o       Black Powder coasted cast aluminum weather-guard dome handle

o       Grade 304 stainless steel shroud w/ welded stainless steel flange

o       Male hose fitting/vacuum breaker

Mounting Hardware:

o       Black powder coated under-deck support flange w/ hardware

Features:

o       The auto-drain port will discharge the water remaining in the standpipe to an open-site drain

o       The hydrant utilizes a bronze full port auto drain ball valve within the stainless steel shroud

o       The under-deck flange prevents the hydrant from becoming dislodged from the roof membrane during penetration

o       The weather-guard domed handle prevents moisture from entering the assembly when the valve is in the off position

Practical Application:

Where there is concern for potential damage to the hydrant assembly due to severe cold weather, the MPH-24D pedestal hydrant with its weather-guard dome provides a freeze proof hose station at required locations.  The auto-drain port is located below the freeze line at the base of the hydrant.  The stainless steel shroud and base allow the contractor to make a positive, weather tight flashing to the hydrant in rooftop applications.
